Overview
A retail mart in the US needed better visibility into their sales and a way to stop over- and under-stocking products. Neurix built a real-time sales intelligence dashboard backed by ML-powered demand forecasting.
The Challenge
The mart was making stock decisions based on gut feel and last year's data. They were regularly over-ordering slow movers and running out of fast ones. The management team had no live view of what was happening on the floor they relied on end-of-day reports that were already outdated.
What We Built
We built a real-time sales dashboard that ingests POS data, displays live transaction feeds, and visualises sales by product, category, time of day, and location. On top of that, we trained an ML forecasting model on two years of historical sales to predict future demand by SKU giving the buying team a 2-week forward view of which products will move.
Outcome
Overstock incidents dropped by 41% in the first quarter. The buying team reduced weekly ordering time by 60%. Three of the mart's top-performing product decisions in the quarter were driven directly by the forecasting model.
